Windows Live Writer is the best and top desktop blogging software available. It is easy, simple and even a non technical guy can set it up very easily as the configuration part very simple. It is the must have for every blogger who thinks that blogging as a serious job.
It allows you to crop images, add watermarks and other photo effects, it also allows you to add and upload videos to YouTube directly. It has lots of plugins to add extra functionality, these plugins really enhances your blogging experience. It has every blogging utility which one bloggers wants to have in his box, It has inbuilt spell checker, WYSIWYG tools, unique feature of inserting maps using windows live local, Adding keywords & Categories, scheduling the post and many more features to name. Once configured you need not look at your blog’s dashboard except to approve the comments.
Overall, Windows Live Writer has the capabilities of MS Office. One should really thank Microsoft for providing such a best tool for bloggers. Again the saddest part is that it is only for Windows. Hope to see a Windows live writer alternative for Linux users by codeplex (Microsoft’s open source portal) soon.
