Firefox 3.6 & Thunderbird 3.0 RC Released

mozilla-foundation-logo Mozilla Foundation has updated the latest beta versions of Firefox 3.6 and upgraded the Beta of Thunderbird to the release candidate. They have released the Firefox 3.6 beta 4 and Release Candidate (RC) of Thunderbird 3.0 to the public. They setup the milestones for the future release and soon there would be tremendous changes in features.

Firefox 3.6 Beta 4:

Firefox 3.6 beta 4 logoAs per the latest announcement Mozilla foundation have fixed more than 140 bugs in Firefox 3.6 beta 4 version which improves the productivity of the web developers, Add-on developers and users, and the good thing was almost 70% of the addon’s were upgraded to be compatible with the latest version 3.6.

Firefox 3.6 Beta Features :

  • A change to how third-party software integrates with Firefox to increase stability.
  • The ability to run scripts asynchronously to speed up page load times.
  • A mechanism to prevent incompatible software from crashing Firefox.
  • Users can now change their browser’s appearance with a single click, with built in support for Personas.
  • Firefox 3.6 will alert users about out of date plugins to keep them safe.
  • Open, native video can now be displayed full screen, and supports poster frames.
  • Support for the WOFF font format.
  • Improved JavaScript performance, overall browser responsiveness and startup time.
  • Support for new CSS, DOM and HTML5 web technologies.

Great going Mozilla. Firefox is my all time favorite browser., i’m not that interested in Thunderbird. but i have tried it and is good.

It is still in beta version, and it says that almost 70% of plugins/add-ons already been upgrade to make it suitable for the latest version. I’m not going to upgrade it just yet.. will wait for the Final release. BTW, thanks for the info
